25th Year Anniversary Concert
The Childbloom Guitar Program celebrates its 25th year with a concert at St. Stephens Episcopal School in Austin, TX.
The Program will feature three guitar groups with up to 60 young players in a guitar choir, and a number of pieces composed and arranged for guitar combinations and other instruments.
There will be several works premiered for this event. "For Us All", a work for the guitar ensemble, La Bella Corda, and two sopranos by Andrew Sigler was commissioned for this event. Other premiers are "Invocation", for guitar orchestra and trumpet, played by David Pittel, and "Sephardic Journey" for guitar string band and soprano sax, played by Harvey Pitell, composed by Kevin Taylor for those artists. Youth is remembered with an arrangement of "Nostalgia", a song by Clare Barns Greer, sung in the original Italian by Courtney Miller. Ballet Austin will premier a dance to a work for guitar orchestra commissioned in 2000 by the Childbloom Company.
Soloists for this concert are Eliot Wilde and Ryan Voldstad, two Austin 12 year olds. Also soloing is Austin's 16 year old, Catalina Hungerford, and 17 year old Alyssa Santoyo from Boise. Mr. Isaac Bustos, fresh off his fourth competition win this year at the Texas International Guitar Competition will also perform.
